I Am Because Of You

You gave me life and a place to be nurtured and grow.
You gave me a home and a safe place to be me.

Over the years, you taught me more than teachers or books ever could.

You taught me what commitment and loyalty mean.
You taught me the power of forgiveness and unconditional love.
You showed me how to be strong and have faith when
all odds seemed to be against me.

You showed me that faith and family are the most important, and.
You helped mold me into the woman I am today.

When things get tough, because of you,
I know tomorrow holds new hope and promises.

When I feel weak and tired, because of you,
I know that I don’t have to rely on my own strength.

When I get hurt, because of you,
I know that forgiveness and unconditional love help heal and restore.

When life doesn’t make sense and there is chaos all around, because of you,
I know that family will always be there to bring back the balance.

Thank you for being the Godly influence to me.
For teaching me, not only by words, but by being a living example.

The woman I am today continues to learn and grow by the woman you are.
And my prayer is to be as great an example to my daughters, as you have been to me.
