We moved to Washington State in August of 1999 after retiring from the Navy. The trip from Virginia to Washington took us 5 days and we ended up in Kennewick, WA.
Probably the biggest myth I have found about Washington is that it rains here all the time. True, it rains a lot on the west side of the state, but living on the southeast side like we do, we have little rain. This is known as the desert side of Washington. Summer brings us hot days and cool nights.
